About Flags!

We are a fam of five living in downtown Reading - two humans, Andrew and Tara, and three dogs, Kaycee, Ari, and Waffles! Andrew bought the house in 2020, Tara and Kaycee moved in early 2021, Ari joined the family in summer 2022, and Waffles joined the family spring 2024.

We started gathering flags that caught our eye or carried significant messages. It became evident quite quickly that one flagpole wouldn't suffice to show off all these flags. So we upgraded - we introduced a second flagpole, a garden pole, and a sign to label the flags on the poles. Additionally, we rotate the flags on display every few weeks to showcase the diverse range of flags we own.

We like flags and decided to share our passion for vexillology with our commuinity and the cool symbolism in flag design. We love hearing from our neighbors that they enjoy our flags, please feel free to request a flag be flown!

Where Do We Get Our Flags?

Some flags have come about during travels abroad, local organizations, gifts from family and friends, and some great small businesses.

We bought our Juneteenth, Guam, and Bunker Hill flags from a local business, Arlington Flag & Banner. Arlington Flag & Banner has a great selection of international flags along with U.S. state, historical, military, and nautical flags in various sizes.

Many of the LGBTQ+, activism, and garden flags we own we bought from Flags for Good. Flags For Good donates a small portion of every purchase to a different organization, depending on the cause that flag supports or represents, and the flags are great quality and come in a variety of thicknesses for great durability.
